Pastor Dwight Hunt is an active participant in every aspect of church work. He worked closely with his father (Bishop James E. Hunt), as Assistant Pastor until his passing in July 2011. He is often found working behind the scenes, visiting the sick and shut in, making his rounds in nursing homes and hospitals, and performing ministerial duties to many in and around the community. He remains a passionate, spiritual, confident leader who stands to encourage church ministries and promote spiritual growth and development for every member of Beth-El Church of God in Christ.

Pastor Hunt initiated the Men’s Fellowship Breakfast, in which men of all ages meet once a month for the purpose of fellowship, as well as solidifying the group, reaching out to the undergrowth and mentoring them. Pastor Hunt heads a Master’s and Doctoral class in Theology, an affiliate of the Spirit of Truth Institute, which falls under the auspices of the Mid Hudson Bible Institute. He has held several ceremonies conferring Honorary Doctor of Divinity degrees upon deserving high profile leaders in the New York First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. He was installed as Pastor on September 31, 2011 after the passing of our beloved founder, Bishop James E. Hunt. He is a man who is well balanced, practical, and powerful in the Lord.

Pastor Hunt is recognized in the community of Poughkeepsie, as well as surrounding areas. He is respected and honorably represents Beth-El Church of God in Christ throughout Dutchess County and on a state level as well.

In every era, God raises up a leader to champion a cause and to pioneer new possibilities for God’s people. God has blessed us with Pastor Dwight Hunt - a visionary with perception, insight, and discernment - a man of God destined to fulfill God’s commission for his generation and leaving an indelible impact for generations to come.
